Álvaro Pérez
Economic Development Researcher
Before joining IMCO, I worked as a research assistant at ITAM and El Colegio de México, collaborating on projects about party discipline and political clientelism. I have also contributed to the field of strategic consulting and was part of a startup focused on providing credit services.
I hold bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and International Relations from ITAM, where I strengthened my background in econometrics, causal inference, and public policy evaluation. During my studies, I completed an academic exchange at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, specializing in international trade.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, taking indoor cycling classes, and having deep conversations with friends. I’m passionate about uncovering counterintuitive and interesting insights from data and turning them into concrete recommendations and actions.
