Data Analyst Director
Víctor Gómez Ayala is an economist and political scientist from ITAM, with a master's degree in economic theory from ITAM and in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, in addition to being a doctoral candidate in economics from ITAM with a specialization in data science.
He is committed to education and the dissemination of economic and financial knowledge. He specializes in data science, applied macroeconomics, as well as tax and energy policy. He has led economic research and data analytics teams in different institutions in the financial sector and is passionate about public service after his work in the Ministry of Finance. He is a professor of macroeconomics at ITAM, where he has worked on a complimentary basis for almost 10 years in bachelor's and master's degrees. He is a weekly columnist for El Financiero and has collaborated with media such as Gatopardo, Nexos, Este País, Animal Político, among others.
Before working at IMCO, he headed the Analytics team at the Rafael Dondé Foundation and was senior economist at Finamex Casa de Bolsa. Prior to these tasks, he worked at the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, where, among other positions, he was Chief Economic Adviser to the Deputy Minister of Revenues.
